Accessibility Statement

Prepared: 11 October 2026
Latest reported manual testing: 10 October 2026

Our commitment

Symphony Club of Waterford (SCOW) is committed to making information about our concerts, activities and membership accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities.

This statement covers scowmusic.com and our development website, dev.scowmusic.com.

Our website provides information about SCOW, upcoming events, membership and ways to contact us. Some links lead to external ticketing providers and other organisations.

Accessibility standard

Our target is conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. These guidelines help make websites perceivable, operable, understandable and robust for people using different devices and assistive technologies.

We also aim to meet any applicable requirements of the European Accessibility Act and Ireland’s European Union (Accessibility Requirements of Products and Services) Regulations 2023.

Current assessment status

Accessibility assessment is ongoing. We are not currently making a claim of full WCAG conformance or full compliance with the European Accessibility Act.

Manual checks were carried out on the development website on 10 October 2026. The person carrying out those checks reported that the functions tested passed.

These results apply to the pages, features and conditions tested. They do not establish that every page, document or user journey meets every applicable accessibility requirement.

The live website requires verification following deployment of accessibility changes.

Manual checks completed

The reported checks included:

  • Keyboard navigation using Tab and Shift+Tab.
  • Operation of the navigation controls tested.
  • Use of the skip-to-content link.
  • Browser zoom, with text remaining readable and fitting within the layout tested.
  • Screen-reader checks using NVDA, including announcement of headings.
  • Operation of the back-to-top control.

These checks provide useful evidence of accessibility for the functions tested.

Areas requiring further verification

Further assessment is needed before a full conformance claim can be made. This includes:

  • Colour contrast and visible keyboard focus.
  • Alternative text for meaningful images.
  • Heading structure, link descriptions and control names.
  • Forms, instructions and error messages, where present.
  • Cookie controls and other interactive components.
  • Mobile layouts and reflow at high magnification.
  • Captions and other alternatives for audio and video, where required.
  • Downloadable documents.
  • Complete user journeys and any relevant external booking services.

These are areas awaiting verification, rather than a list of confirmed failures.

Getting help or reporting a problem

If you experience difficulty using our website, or need information in another format, please contact us:

Email: liam.daly1@gmail.com
Telephone: 087 798 3724

Please tell us which page or feature caused difficulty, what you were trying to do and your preferred way for us to respond. If helpful, you can also tell us which browser or assistive technology you were using. You do not need to disclose a diagnosis or medical information.

We will review your request and work with you to provide the information or assistance you need.

External services

External ticketing websites, social media platforms and other linked services are operated by their respective providers.

If an external service prevents you from accessing information about a SCOW event, contact us and we will help you identify an available alternative.

Maintaining accessibility

Our approach is to consider accessibility when adding content, changing the website or selecting new features.

We will update this statement as further testing is completed, confirmed barriers are identified or improvements are made.
